BlendDuck connects X through OAuth 2.0. The authorization grants publishing, media upload, account identity, and refresh access without asking you to paste an X password or token into the dashboard.
Connect X
- Sign in to the intended X account in a separate browser tab.
- Open Dashboard → Channels.
- Choose X → Connect.
- Review and approve the requested permissions.
- Return to BlendDuck and verify the handle, display name, and avatar.
- Publish a short test post before using the channel in a campaign.
Reconnect when X revokes the authorization, the account owner changes its security policy, or BlendDuck asks for newly added scopes. Never paste a bearer token into a draft or support comment.
Compose a post or thread

Review every thread part independently. If a later part fails after earlier parts publish, do not resend the entire thread: inspect the post history and continue only after confirming which X post IDs exist.
Configure replies and Communities
In the X channel settings for a draft, Who can reply can be set to everyone, accounts you follow, mentioned accounts, subscribers, or verified accounts. The choices exposed by X can change for an account; use the composer value that is available at publishing time.
To publish into an X Community, paste the full Community URL in this form:
https://x.com/i/communities/1493446837214187523
BlendDuck extracts the numeric Community ID. A homepage, post URL, shortened URL, or Community URL with a missing ID is rejected before publishing.
Analytics
X Analytics includes posts and follower history. BlendDuck refreshes provider data periodically, so a post can be live before its first metric sync. X does not currently provide a Social Inbox adapter in BlendDuck; handle replies and direct messages in X unless that capability appears on the connected channel.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Resolution |

| Character count is unexpectedly high | Use the X-specific count shown by the composer; shorten URLs or Unicode-heavy text instead of relying on a generic counter. |
| Media upload fails | Confirm the source is reachable, use images or one video rather than mixed media, and keep video at 140 seconds or less. |
| Community is rejected | Paste the full https://x.com/i/communities/<numeric-id> URL. |
| A thread is partially published | Check History for successful parts and provider IDs before deciding whether to continue or delete natively. |
| Reply restriction fails | Select a reply audience currently allowed for that account and post context. |
| Authorization expires | Reconnect the same X account and review queued posts before retrying. |
