Pinterest channel guide
Connect Pinterest, publish image Pins to the correct board, and understand reporting delay.

Pinterest publishing in BlendDuck creates one image Pin on a selected board. Choosing the board is a required publishing decision, not a later filing step.
Before you start
- Sign in to the intended Pinterest account and confirm the destination board exists.
- Prepare exactly one image with a publicly reachable HTTPS URL and useful alt text.
- Have the destination link ready if the Pin should drive traffic.
- Use a separate low-risk board or Pin for the first connection test.
Connect Pinterest
- Open Dashboard → Channels.
- Choose Pinterest → Connect.
- Approve profile, board-reading, and Pin-publishing access.
- Confirm the connected business name or username.
- Reconnect with Pin-reading access if Analytics is not available.
Create a Pin
- Add one image; video Pins and multi-image Pins are not available through this adapter.
- Select the destination board and, when needed, a board section.
- Enter an optional title of up to 100 characters.
- Write a description of up to 800 characters.
- Add an optional destination URL of up to 2,048 characters.
- Preview the image, board, and link before scheduling.
After publish, open the returned Pinterest URL and check both the board and the destination link. Correcting a Pin after it reaches the wrong board is not part of the BlendDuck publish flow.
Use Analytics
Pinterest Analytics includes Pins and follower history when the connection has the additional read permission. Provider data can lag by about 48 hours and is refreshed daily, so a newly published Pin is not expected to report immediately. Pinterest does not provide Social Inbox actions through this connection.
You are done when
- the intended Pinterest account is connected;
- the test Pin appears on the correct board with its image and link; and
- Analytics either loads or clearly indicates that read access must be added.
If something blocks you
| Symptom | Next action |
|---|---|
| A board cannot be selected | Confirm it exists under the connected account, then reconnect board access. |
| The composer rejects the media | Use exactly one image with a public HTTPS URL. |
| Title, description, or link is rejected | Keep the title within 100 characters, description within 800, and use a valid URL. |
| The Pin appears in the wrong place | Confirm both board and section before creating a replacement Pin. |
| Analytics is empty | Wait up to 48 hours and reconnect if Pin-reading access was not granted. |
